Select
First Aid is a dynamic company that provides training for business and
industry in the province of B.C. We are dedicated to improving your workplace
with regards to all safety requirements.
John Cole
John Cole, co-owner and President of Select First Aid Ltd., brings
a wealth of experience in the field of first aid. A former paramedic with
the BC Ambulance Service, John has held an Industrial/Occupational First
Aid Level 3 Certificate since 1977.
Drawing on his years of experience
and passion for teaching, John opened Select First Aid 10 years ago. He
soon became a Red Cross and occupational first aid instructor, teaching
all levels of first aid. John is also an instructor trainer and evaluator
of Occupational First Aid, an A.E.D. and T.D.G. instructor,
and he teaches all WorkSafe programs.
In the community, John leads our
annual Heart Month free workshop that teaches CPR and other life saving
techniques to the public. He frequently volunteers first aid services at
community and sporting events, and donates his time each year to train
students in Douglas College’s Consumer
and Job Preparation Program for adults with special needs.
Sonia Cole
Sonia Cole is the co-owner and Vice President of Select First
Aid Ltd. Having studied both physiotherapy and early childhood education
in her earlier career, Sonia has focused her attention on first aid over
the last ten years. Noted for her enthusiasm in everything she undertakes,
Sonia has been a Red Cross First Aid Instructor since 1998 and has been
mentoring other instructors since 2000. She is also qualified as an Occupational
First Aid Level 1 and Level 3 instructor.
Building on her expertise with
young children and families, Sonia gives free safety and first aid workshops
to many community groups, such as ‘Healthiest
Babies Possible’ and ‘Parents and Children Together’.
She volunteers her time as a first aid instructor for Surrey’s Crime
Prevention Program and provides free first aid services for many sporting
and community events. Sonia also helps organize Select First Aid’s
annual Heart Month free CPR workshop.
Chris Reedy
Chris Reedy is a first aid instructor with Select First Aid.
With his obvious love for teaching people, Chris shares his knowledge of
first aid with a wide range of students. His qualifications include:
- Occupational First Aid Attendant Level 3
- Occupational First Aid Level 1 Instructor
- Transportation Endorsement Instructor
- Red Cross and AED Instructor
- Oxygen Therapy Instructor.
- Certified in Sports First Aid (taping certificate).
Chris brings a unique
perspective to occupational first aid from his work as a sheet metal journeyman.
In the community, Chris volunteers with the Sports Medicine Council of
BC and with the Navy League of Canada as an Officer for children ages 9
to 12. He also helps organize Select First Aid’s annual
Heart Month free CPR workshop.
